Ashleigh and Ty Mt Rainier Elopement

This was a major highlight of my season and I’m so excited to finally be sharing it here. When Ashleigh originally reached out to me, I was SO. FREAKING. EXCITED. I knew her from Instagram because she is also a photographer (a really good one, based out of Utah, see her here) Whenever a fellow photog reaches out to me about their wedding, my heart explodes. Ashleigh and Ty decided to elope to Mt. Rainier National Park. They were going to be flying in with their immediate families and envisioned a spot in mossy evergreen trees. We hiked into the woods (yes, even grandma!) found a spot tucked away and they shared the most raw and personal hand-written vows with each other. I LOVED watching not only their emotions, but also their family smile, tear up, cry, laugh, and ride that emotional wave WITH them. Everyone was so close together, circling these two in so much support. Ty wrote his vows on the back of a chipotle bag because that’s where they went on their first date. He also wrote vows to B, Ashleigh’s daughter. (cue the tears and heart putters because they were out-of-this-world sweet) We spent some time in the forest then hiked back to their adorable a-frame cabin for games, a churro cake and pizza (YEAH- THESE ARE MY PEOPLE) A combination of boho adventure + A frame pizza party + amazingly GOOD human beings crazy in love. These two are so SO sweet, goodhearted, and now feel like dear friends.

Ashleigh + Ty’s Advice to Those Planning a Wedding Now: Find vendors you not only love but trust! Tell them the vibe you're going for, then sit back and let them have creative freedom. Not only is that when the magic happens, but there is less stress for yourself when you're not micromanaging. Don't sweat details- you just enjoy the day and let them do the work!
