Matt + Arika | PROPOSAL

A PROPOSAL! When I get the opportunity to photograph moments like this, it is not taken lightly! When I received a message from Matt that he was going to propose I couldn't have been happier. I've known Matt since elementary school and he was the best man in my own wedding! Matt couldn't have picked a better person to spend his life with. Arika is kindhearted, outgoing and a total babe. We threw around some ideas for a proposal and he decided that he was going to do it in her parent's backyard with their support system of family and friends nearby. Arika's twin sister and best friend picked her up to get ready for what she thought was a birthday dinner. Their plans took a turn when her sister and best friend drove her to Arika's parent's house and handed her a note from Matt. Arika said she was in shock reading the note and when she looked up her twin and best friend were sitting there crying, they were so happy! Arika walked to the backyard where Matt was standing there all by himself (well... I may have been lurking nearby) He got down on one knee and asked her to marry him and when she said yes, a huge cheer let out from the balcony where their families and closest friends were all watching and celebrating. It was so special and I feel so blessed to have been part of it.
