Bridesmaid Dress Inspiration for 2023
You’ve already chosen the closest people in your life to be your bridesmaids, but now you face a new dilemma: What are they going to wear?
Picking out what your bridesmaids should wear can feel overwhelming. You want them all to look good but also love what they’re wearing and go well with your overall wedding theme- that can be a tall order for a dress. Long gone are the days of picking one dress for every bridesmaid to wear though. I’m here to show off some of my past bride tribes in hopes that one of these beautiful groups might inspire your own wedding planning!
Same color but different styles
This is probably the most popular bridesmaids dress trend I see at weddings. Why? Because it’s easy to coordinate and your bridesmaids are all able to pick out a dress style that compliments their body perfectly. It’s a win win! Plus there are tons of companies out there now that make the task of doing this super easy. Sites like BIRDEY GREY , AZAZIE , and KENNEDY BLUE are easy solutions for helping your girls find dresses in the same color with many different styles.
Bridesmaids Color Palettes
Another option is to offer your bridesmaids a few criteria, and then let them choose their own dresses. Like the image below, these dresses all fall within the pink-red color palette but they are all so different. Some are velvet, some are chiffon, some have sleeves and some don’t. This bride hadn’t seen all the dresses together until her wedding day and said she loved how it all came together.
In the second image below, the bride assigned a color to each bridesmaid and allowed them to find whatever dress they wanted that was close to that color. This allows the group to fit within the overall wedding color palette, but gives the bridesmaids the opportunity to have some fun shopping for any dress they want within their color.

Bridesmaids Dress Colors
All Black Bridesmaids Dresses
All black bridesmaids dresses are classy and timeless. They are also SO EASY for your bridesmaids to find dresses for (and likely wear again!) Black is one of the most flattering colors. I also love how much the bride stands out in these photos. Caution to the mid summer brides though: black absorbs light and turns it into heat making these dresses feel warmer than they actually might be!
Jewel Tone Bridesmaids Dresses
Jewel-tone colors include variations of red, yellow, green, blue, and purple that range from mid-tones to deep, saturated shades. You might not think all of these colors would blend nicely together but they actually do! I usually am so excited in the variation when I get to photograph these types of groups because I’m always shocked at how cohesive the group looks.
Green Bridesmaids Dresses
Another pretty color option for bridesmaids dresses is green. There are a ton of different routes you can go with green, it aways compliments an outdoor wedding because there is likely going to be green in your backdrop. From olive to emerald to sage green, the options are endless.
Blue Hue Wedding Dresses
Blue hues in wedding dresses can range from dark navy to mint to sale blue. These hues usually make me think of coastal vibes or waterfront venues.
Warm Neutral Bridesmaids Dresses
I think this color may be the most popular wedding dress color palette and that’s because it’s feminine, classy and compliments many other colors. Neutrals can range from tan to gold, to even really light blushes, mauves or pinks.
Regardless of what bridesmaids dresses you choose, the most important thing is that you are going to have your best friends supporting you on your big day!
